Tuition and Fee Payment Policy
PURPOSE
To outline the processes and expectations for tuition and fee payments for students in the UC Davis School of Medicine (i.e., the School).
SETTING
All medical students
LCME STANDARD
12.2 Tuition Refund Policy
POLICY
- All medical students are required to pay tuition and fees by the first day of instruction each quarter, unless directed otherwise.
PROCEDURE
- Students are charged tuition and fees upon registration in courses each quarter. The Registrar’s Office processes official registration for all students.
- Fee payment deadlines are posted to the School’s Financial Aid website and emails are sent to each Class listserv from the Registrar’s Office several weeks before each quarter’s due date.
- Students will remain financially liable for the term’s tuition and fees unless they file a Withdrawal or Leave Form with the Registrar’s Office by the first day of instruction. All Withdrawal and Leave Forms received before, on, or after the first day of instruction are subject to the Schedule of Refunds.
- The Schedule of Refunds refers to calendar days (NOT instruction days) beginning with the first day of instruction. The number of days elapsed is determined from the date the completed separation or leave of absence request is filed with the Registrar’s Office and it is presumed that no university services will be provided to the student after that date. The refunded percentages are applied respectively to the Student Services Fee, University Tuition, and Nonresident Supplemental Tuition.
