Melissa Rose MPH, Program Administrator of the Environmental Health Sciences Center Retires
Melissa has been with UC Davis for over two decades. She was a long-term manager for the CHARGE Study. Then Administrator for the Center for Children’s Environmental Health for much of its 15 year history. Additionally, she was the first project manager of the MARBLES study which was launched in 2006. Finally, for the last 5 years, she has been working closely as the Program Administrator for the UC Davis Environmental Health Sciences Center (EHSC).

Melissa is one of those quiet people who, with no fanfare whatsoever, goes about efficiently and effectively taking care of all the day-to-day operations, logistics, communications, administrative problem solving, and management of all things big and small. She is immersed in the field of environmental health, keeping up with the latest from other Environmental Health Sciences Centers around the country and NIEHS initiatives.
“She’s a strategic thinker, with far-sighted ideas and creative suggestions for improving whatever isn’t quite working,” said EHSC Director Irva Hertz-Picciotto, Ph.D.

She will be missed for her administrative talent and passion for environmental health, as well as her to-die-for homemade bread! We wish Melissa the best in her retirement with plenty of time with her grandchildren on the beaches of Hawaii, one of her favorite escapes.
