Assistant Professor
Jake's research portfolio includes both domestic and international research focused, primarily, around infectious disease. When not teaching at UC Davis, Jake lives and works in Lusaka. His work there includes HIV and non-communicable (NCD) co-morbidties including hypertension, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Domestically, Jake's work has coalesced around COVID-19 research, especially effectiveness of face masks, vaccine effectiveness, and vaccine uptake. Jake also serves as an instructor of record for multiple courses at UC Davis, inclduing principles of epidemiology (EPI205), Epidemiology for Health Professionals (SPH205AY, PHC200), and Topics in Public Health Seminar (SPH290).
