Kyoungmi Kim is a faculty biostatistician with extensive experience in statistical genetics/genomics in particular and in -omics research in general. Her research interests include disease biomarkers, quantitative genetics, post- genomics, and statistical and research methodology.
Particular emphasis areas include the use of statistical methodologies to locate complex disease genes in quantitative genetic analysis and bioinformatics tools to understand molecular functions combining different types of -omics data. She also focuses on computational and statistical approaches to disease biomarker discovery, including early detection of disease (such as cancers and genetic disorders) and predictions of responses to therapeutic interventions and risk of patient stratification.
Kim also participates in interdisciplinary projects addressing the genetic component of multi-factorial chronic conditions such as heart disease, metabolic disease and cancer.
