The inaugural Physiology and Membrane Biology Departmental Symposium at the Lake Tahoe Granlibakken Resort brought together students, postdocs, lab personnel, and faculty to share and discuss the latest science, socialize as a community, and enjoy nature. Seventeen labs presented research talks and posters. Ellen Lumpkin (University of California, Berkeley) gave the Marion G. and Loren D. Carlson lecture. Ed McCleskey (Chan Zuckerberg Initiative) gave a keynote. A career development workshop was moderated by Jim Trimmer with Kim Barrett, Ed McCleskey, Theanne Griffith, and Fernando Santana as panelists. Our Chair Fernando Santana gave the State of the Department address. Awards were given to students, postdocs, and lab personnel for poster presentations.
