    Gary Thompson

    Gary Thompson completed his B.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology at Epic Bible College in 2015, and his MDiv. at Grand Canyon University in 2023. He is also an Ordained Elder with New Bethel Apostolic Ministries located in Sacramento CA.

    Gary enjoys spending time with his wife (Mea) and four children (Ja’rod, Jordyn, Josiah, and Jacai) and taking walks in nature. Gary is passionate about walking people through challenging times in life while also being a spiritual support for all who are inquiring.

  • Da Hye Jung

    Da Hye Jung

    January 2025 – August 2025

    Da Hye Jung earned her Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in February 2011 from Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Seoul, South Korea, where she also earned a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Church Music in February 2009. After moving to the U.S., she completed a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) in May 2017 from the Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in Berkeley, California.

    Da Hye enjoys spending time with her family—her husband, Hyun Ho Park, a UMC pastor; her son, Luke; and her daughter, Phoebe. She loves singing and playing the piano. Da Hye feels blessed to serve people at UC Davis Medical Center as a spiritual caregiver.

  • Noah Pollock

    Noah Pollock

    Spiritual Care Specialist 1
    CPE Residency Program September 2024 -September 2025

    Noah Pollock earned his master’s degree in Jewish studies, and a Judaic Chaplaincy certificate from the Academy for Jewish Religion California in 2023. He completed his BAs at the American Jewish University in 2015 in Psychology and Judaic Studies. He is a Student Chaplain with the Neshama National Association of Jewish Chaplains. He completed 2 clinical pastoral education units at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and 1 Unit at OPICA a senior day care center in Los Angeles for those with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory related issues. He sees this work as being a way to connect to the divine within each patient and staff member he encounters throughout the course of his shift.

    He has taught archery sports been a lifeguard and many other roles at Camp Ramah in California from 2009-2023 during the summers. In his free time he enjoys playing percussion and the piano, listening to a wide variety of music, and enjoys swimming and being outdoors. He is blessed to be joining the UC Davis Spiritual Care Department as a Spiritual Care Specialist 1 for the 2024-2025 year.

  • Sundria Sam

    Sundria Sam

    Sundria Sam earned her Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Social Transformation, and Certificate of Spirituality and Social Change in May 2023 from the Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in Berkeley, California. She is currently enrolled at PSR in the Doctor of Ministry program. Sundria also completed one unit of CPE at Travis AFB, California in the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy Nautilius, California Chapter in May 2022.

    She began her spiritual education journey in 2016 completing a certification in Biblical Studies at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (CLD- Fairfield, California), then graduated with a certification from the Bay Area Responsible Preaching Academy at the Leadership Institute at Allen Temple in Oakland, California.

    Sundria was ordained in July 2023 and serves alongside her husband, Richard, as an associate minister at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Hayward, California. She is the mother of two (Donte' & Sheria) and the bonus mother of one (Zurich). She has six grandloves (Tayveon, Ezekiel, Percais, Donte II, Zamia, and Scarlett).

    Sundria loves to travel and feels blessed to be able to serve the spiritual care needs of patients, their family members, and staff at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California.

  • Richard Mathews

    Richard Mathews

    Richard Mathews earned his M.A. in Christian Leadership at Grand Canyon University. He received his BA in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University as well. He received his Associates of Applied Sciences in Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College. With over a decade of various church ministry experiences, his passion for helping others has only been enhanced.

    From the Redding area originally, he recently relocated to the Sacramento area from Orlando, Florida. This year he will be celebrating six years of marriage with his wife, who loves to do the same hobbies. Hobbies include reading, hiking, and fishing. They try to go camping as much as possible, especially love the Donner pass and Mt. Shasta areas.
