Philosophy of Care

Dr. Anderson uses an integrated approach when working with clients; she uses evidence based practices and a person-centered approach to work with clients to relieve symptoms while simultaneously working toward their personal goals. Dr. Anderson values the individual differences each client brings into treatment. She strives to empower clients to connect with their identities and strengths as part of the skill building process to help guide clients in the journey toward their goals.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Anderson specializes in the treatment and evaluation of children and young adults. She is particularly invested in providing culturally competent and trauma informed evaluations to aid court decision making related to matters of competency, risk, mental state, and child welfare concerns. Dr. Anderson also provides specialized mental health treatment for systems-involved and trauma-impacted youth.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Anderson's research interests focus on the intersection of law and mental health; her overarching goal is to improve mental health and justice-related policies across system levels through dissemination of up to date scientific literature. Dr. Anderson seeks to expand the literature base surrounding the forensic evaluation of youth and improve compassion fatigue resources for helping professionals within the justice system.
