Cancer treatment is expensive, not only the cost of treatment, but the loss of income due to disability, insurance copays, and logistical costs of getting to and from treatment. For multiple reasons, many patients and their families face significant cancer-related financial hardship (also known as financial toxicity). This course will examine cancer-related financial hardship, how to talk to patients and families about financial concerns, and how we can get help for our cancer patients and families.
