Daniel Aquino M.S.-L., B.S.N., R.N., N.P.D.-B.C., C.S.S.G.B., M.E.D.S.U.R.G.-B.C.
Daniel Aquino began his career at UC Davis Medical Center in 2004 as a student nurse intern on East 4, Accelerated Access Unit, where he eventually became a clinical resource nurse one year after graduating from CSU, Sacramento with a BSN. From 2007 – 2017, Daniel worked on Tower 4, ENT/IM/Adolescent Unit, and during this time, Daniel completed his master’s degree in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership at the UC Davis, Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. He was a PCS Quality and Safety Nurse Champion from 2017 – 2020 and served as the project lead for medication administration audits.
Various roles he’s had so far include new graduate nurse residency program facilitator, unit designated preceptor, UBPC chair, EMR superuser and a primary nursing co-facilitator. He taught inservices and various skills day topics. He was a Sac State School of Nursing clinical instructor for 2nd and 4th semester students. He volunteered to teach Alaris pump integration classes. He precepted students from the surrounding nursing schools and oriented new unit hires and float pool hires. He was a train the trainer facilitator for CAUTI skills day and PCA training. He was an active member of the Nursing Pharmacy Medication Safety committee, Quality and Safety Council, and Josie King Hero Committee.
He has his Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt through ASQ and participated in 5S unit decluttering projects and GEMBA rounds with the wound care team’s point prevalence survey.
As a Nursing school liaison, Daniel onboards Nursing students and faculty. He is passionate about supporting students and career nurses in their professional development.
