Misty Cahoon, M.S.N., R.N., N.P.D.-B.C.
Misty Cahoon, M.S.N., R.N., N.P.D.-B.C. earned her BS in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2002 and 2003, respectively. She has experience in orthopedics,oncology, nursing education, quality and nursing administration. She is currently certified in Nursing Professional Development.
Misty’s teaching experiences include two years as a primary preceptor for an orthopedic unit, three years as an oncology educator and three years in education management.
While working at UC Davis Medical Center she worked as a Quality and Safety Champion both for Acute and Critical Care Units where she provided support for the VAP Reduction Initiative and Stop C. diff Project, along with other Quality Improvement activities. She also contributed to Professional Governance though service in the following committees: co-chair of the Quality and Safety Committee, co-lead for VTE reduction project, and a contributing member for both the Professional Development Council and the Sepsis Steering Committee.
Misty is passionate about education and the empowerment of bedside nurses.
