MOVE IT UP | University of California, Davis

MOVE IT UP² Mobile COVID-19 Testing was funded by California Department of Public Health, Office of Health Equity. MOVE IT UP² was Phase II of the MOVE IT UP Project, which focused on increasing COVID vaccine and testing access, and ended on September 30, 2022.  MOVE IT UP² ended on June 30, 2023 and was an innovative service delivery project that shifted focus and sought to increase access to COVID testing and treatment for historically underserved communities, with a focus on Latinos and Latino farmworkers. The MOVE IT UP² project used mobile units that provided rapid testing to quickly connect COVID positive patients in Sacramento, Sutter, Butte, Glenn, and Colusa counties to telehealth treatment options.

The Test to Treat Digital Health Equity Pilot Project (T2T DHE) was a combination of efforts and funding from two of our Center's projects: MOVE IT UP² and Digital Health Equity. DHE  is still continuing and is federally funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration. T2T DHE included a telehealth component, connecting those who test positive with immediate virtual care at Federally Qualified Health Centers. T2T DHE was a partnership between the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, UCD Health, Health Education Council, WellSpace Health, and AMPLA Health. Our partnership aimed to advance health equity in historically underserved populations, connecting consumers with timely, accessible health care. The project brought health care to where consumers were, at the point of need. T2T DHE also encouraged continuity of care using Digital Health Navigators. Test-to-treat mobile teams operated six days a week, including regular evening and weekend hours, throughout Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sacramento, and Sutter counties. Between October 1, 2022 and June 31, 2023, the project provided over 6,000 tests to underserved communities and hosted 214 testing clinics.
