Surprisingly for an EM resident: Not travel or climbing....I must've been asleep when "the mountains called my name"....Although, I'm getting into camping recently...mostly the beer and bonfire. I love my friends back in LA so almost all my travel is back there...Super enjoy podcasts/movies and hanging out with my labradoodle, Samwise....is BBQ and tacos + aimless debate, and movie night a hobby?

Why did you choose UCDavis EM?

The breadth of interests and training in our people is awesome. On my away as a med student, I saw how it gave a unique twist to each shift: POCUS, airway, teaching, tox, critical care, Peds EM. Super fun being able to dive deep with an expert on any given shift. People in EM are pretty great as a whole, but at UCD I found myself having a genuinely fun time. Great energy in the pods with music on shift and attendings having fun, joking, and chatting about off shift adventures, trips, and lives with residents was a giant sign to me saying "people are very happy here". I saw it was a place that had the trifecta of its highest priorities being patient care, learning, and tangible, real "wellness." They didn't just talk about wellness, but residents and faculty lived it -- After that month, I knew where I wanted to be.
