The Department of Emergency Medicine sponsors two outstanding emergency medicine CME programs each year. These include a comprehensive 5-day winter conference at Lake Tahoe and a 4-day Summer “Hot Topics” conference in Hawaii.

Emergency Departments provide the “front line” of health care and serve an extraordinary public safety function. Health care delivery is changing rapidly, and emergency care is no exception. The Department’s CME conferences provide practitioners with state-of-the-art tools to improve treatment options for their patients. Content focuses on evidence-based recommendations that directly impact clinical practice.

Faculty teaching at these courses are selected for their comprehensive clinical experience, academic excellence, and teaching abilities. For each conference, UC Davis faculty members are joined by expert faculty from other academic institutions who are leaders in their field. A variety of educational formats are employed, including traditional lectures, case presentations and interactive round-table discussions.
