Why did you choose UCDavis EM?

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to rotate here during MS-IV and had a wonderful time. All the resident were (and still are) fun and welcoming. The attendings have a wide array of passions within EM and bring that to the shifts, their teaching and academic forum. Being older and with kids a 3 year program was also super important to me, but with that more limited training time I wanted a program with a broad mix of patients and a high enough amount of acuity which is what I saw on my rotation and what I have experiences since being here. Finally, I wanted to be somewhere good to live. With little kids it needed to be a safer city, and it needed good access to the outdoors (Tahoe, Yosemite, the coast, Eastern Sierras, etc). When you starting doing the math there are maybe a handful of programs in the country the fit those requirements and I think UC Davis and Sacramento are going to be on the top of the list.
