Where are you from?
Raised in Miami, FL, but lived in Santa Cruz, CA for long enough to call home.
Interests
I’m a landlocked surfer, a semi-retired rock climber, and a cautious backcountry skier. I love getting worked in the mountains on a bike, skis, or just on foot, then coming home and cooking a massive paella feast to share with friends and family. I can be found tinkering on my 1985 camper van and crossing my fingers it won’t strand me on the next road trip to some obscure hot springs. My current midtown apartment is about the most conventional of places I’ve lived which also include the VW van, a 50-year-old sailboat, and a homemade tipi down in Patagonia.
Why did you choose UC Davis EM?
I was blown away on my home EM rotation here and couldn’t be more excited to stay for residency. In the department the vibes are amazing, the faculty, residents, and staff love to teach, and we have an unbelievably diverse and unfortunately sick patient population from urban underserved, to rural across the Central Valley. Outside of the department living in sac is CA’s best kept secret, shhhh. From this glorious city of trees you can drive and spend all day at the ocean, in beautiful rivers, or up in the mountains, and be back in time for your night shift.
