UC Davis Eye Center Education Overview
The faculty and staff of the UC Davis Eye Center are committed to training the next generation of medical students, residents, and fellows in Ophthalmology. The educational activities of the Eye Center are comprised of a rich array of clinical, surgical, and didactic teaching which prepare our doctors to practice as independent clinicians in the future. Teaching is conducted as an apprenticeship in clinical care as well as with more formal didactic instruction through Grand Rounds, Professor’s Rounds, lecture presentations, and small group learning. The UC Davis Eye Center is proud of its premier residency training program which has been in existence since 1970. The faculty of the eye center are also dedicated to sub-specialty training and offer 1 to 2 year fellowships in the areas of Cornea and External Diseases, Glaucoma, and Vitreo-retinal Diseases. In addition, our “Specialty Toolkits” holds the keys to learning about the various sub-specialties in ophthalmology.
