UC Davis Health Research

Research in our Department is led and conducted by a highly accomplished and nationally recognized team of faculty. We conduct research aimed at supplying health care providers, consumers and policymakers with the information they need for informed decision making. Areas of expertise include: physician-patient communication, health behaviors and behavior change, health care disparities, medical education, physician pipeline and workforce issues, comparative effectiveness research, chronic illness care, addressing opioid misuse and disorders, and cancer screening and treatment. Our researchers have a long-history of collaboration with UC Davis entities such as Center for Healthcare Policy and Research; Center for Reducing Health Disparities; Clinical and Translational Science Center; and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our researchers also collaborate with individuals in many other UC Davis Departments (e.g., Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Public Health, Radiology, Emergency Medicine) and at academic institutions and research organizations throughout the world.
