UC Davis Health providers accept many major health plans. Several of the specific plans that we accept are shown in the lists below on this page. Information and links for CalPERS, Medicare, Covered California and Medi-Cal options follow at the bottom of the page.
UC Davis Health specialty care for adults and children may be available when the need arises. Most specialists require a referral from a primary care physician or another specialist. Your ability to see a UC Davis Health specialist may be limited by your health plan, or by our current capacity to see new patients in that specialty. When we are accepting new primary care patients, here’s how to select your personal UC Davis Health doctor:
If your health insurance plan does include UC Davis Health or UC Davis Medical Group, but you’re part of another medical group, your plan may allow you to switch anytime.
If your plan doesn’t include UC Davis Health or UC Davis Medical Group, you may want to consider switching health plans during your open enrollment period.

For primary care, UC Davis Health/UC Davis Medical Group is in-network with Health Net Community Solutions, a Medi-Cal HMO plan. The plan is currently closed to new sign-ups for primary care services from UC Davis Health.
Note: For several other Medi-Cal HMO or Managed Medi-Cal plans, UC Davis Health/UC Davis Medical Group are contracted and may be accessed for specialty care and hospital care. In these plans, your primary care provider would not be from UC Davis Health. Your primary care provider would need to refer you to UC Davis Health in order for you to receive specialty care here. Your health plan and/or primary care provider would also need to authorize all services provided by UC Davis Health.

Yes. As a UC Davis Health patient, you have the option of using MyUCDavisHealth to securely and confidentially communicate with your care team, review your medical record, and much more.
We are dedicated to enhancing access to health care services for our diverse patient population through professional medical interpretation, translation services and cross-cultural communication. UC Davis Health interpreters and translators serve patients in several languages, including Spanish, Russian, Hmong and many others.
Many UC Davis Health primary care physicians, nurses and staff members are bilingual or multilingual, and select interpreting services are available at primary care locations throughout the Sacramento region.
If you wish to find a non-English-speaking physician, please use our Find a Doctor tool and type the language you want such as “Spanish” in the key word field. You can also call the office of your choice and ask if they have any physicians that speak your language and are currently accepting new patients.
