GROW aims to address health disparities in brain health through community health education in the Greater Sacramento area. Through heath education programs tailored to the needs of different communities, we aim to empower individuals and their communities.
In tandem with the research study, GROW conducts health education and outreach events in communities throughout the Greater Sacramento area. These events are open to everyone. Presentations are available in English and Spanish.
The events focus on providing our local communities with information, tips, lessons, activities, and resources to incorporate health practices crucial to maintaining brain health and chronic disease prevention. Brain health is connected to all aspects of physical health!
Our outreach and education activities aim to bring community wellness to neighborhoods throughout the Sacramento area.
We have created and presented curricula on the following topics:
Community groups have unique needs. Work with us to discuss which health education topics best suit your community members. We are happy to create new health curriculum based on science and research. There is no group too small or topic too difficult for us to create a presentation around - we love talking about brain health.
The GROW program collaborates with several different community partners in the Greater Sacramento region to provide community members with free health education presentations and programs. These events are free and open for the public to attend.
