Rachel Whitmer, Ph.D., is faculty in the departments of Public Health Sciences and Neurology and the co-director of the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). Professor Whitmer uses large population-based studies to identify and try to remedy disparities in brain aging, focusing on dementia incidence and brain pathology.
Kristen M. George, Ph.D., M.P.H. is faculty in the Department of Public Health Sciences. Her research interests include cardiovascular health, cognitive aging, dementia and health disparities. Professor George’s work primarily focuses on how social determinants of health intersect with cardiovascular risk factors over the life course leading to disparities in dementia and cognitive aging.
Oanh Meyer, Ph.D., M.A.S. is a social psychologist on the faculty of the Department of Neurology and the UC Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. Professor Meyer directs the Research Education Component at the ADRC and co-directs the Integrating Special Populations into Research (INSPIRE) Program at the UC Davis Clinical Translational Science Center. Her research interests include social determinants of cognitive decline associated with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and culturally appropriate dementia caregiving interventions.
