Acupuncture Acupuncture has been practiced for centuries as part of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It involves the gentle insertion of extremely thin needles at strategically located points on your body. There are over 361 acupuncture points that can be used to heal the body and comfort the mind. The combination of points selected varies with every individual based on their past medical history, current condition, and proposed treatment strategy. Needles may be placed where one is experiencing symptoms (example: on the back for back pain) but also at other points on the body such as on the arms, legs, ears, and scalp. Most patients need multiple sessions to improve their condition.

If you and your integrative provider decide that acupuncture is a good treatment option for you, our clinic staff can assist by scheduling a session. Acupuncture may be covered by your health plan, but this varies depending on the specific insurance plan. Our clinic staff can help provide additional cost information on an individual basis. Please contact us at 916-286-1010 to schedule a consultation for acupuncture services with one of our providers.
