Medical care is not "one size fits all" and treatments that are a good choice for one person may not work as well for someone else. Families need to understand the benefits and risks of different clinical care options and make informed choices. It is the job of the physician to help families navigate these decisions by providing information in a clear and comprehensive way and serving as a resource to talk through these decisions.
