Pediatric Nephrology | Specialties | Department of Pediatrics | UC Davis Health

Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric nephrologists, nurse specialists, social workers and nutrition experts, among others, provide care to children with congenital and acquired kidney and urologic diseases to help optimize their health and quality of life. We engage in scholarly, educational and service activities, all focused on improving the health and well being of children with a variety of kidney diseases, those who are receiving dialysis and those who have received kidney transplants.

Our goal is to work with children, their families and the communities they and we live in, to deliver the best possible care that is effective, efficient and accessible to all.

U.S. News & World Report recently ranked our pediatric nephrology specialty among the nation’s best for 2023–24.

Academic Programs

All pediatric nephrology team members share a passion for teaching all levels of learners: students, residents, fellows, peers, staff and physicians in the greater Sacramento community. We do so with the recognition that we all have a shared goal of improving health and well-being, and that through education we empower all to take responsibility for their own health and the health of others.
