Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of board-certified pediatric pulmonologists, clinical nurses, respiratory therapists, clinical pharmacists, dietitians and social workers. We provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient consultations, follow-ups, and diagnostic services for a wide variety of respiratory and sleep conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
Our pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine faculty are engaged in research activities that are deepening our understanding of variety of pulmonary and sleep conditions. Our findings translate into better patient diagnostic and management skills.
Our research activities include pediatric asthma, sickle cell disease, nutrition in cystic fibrosis, vaping associated lung injury, novel therapies for neuromuscular conditions, telemedicine applications, obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis and treatment just to name a few.
Our pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine faculty are actively involved in teaching our pediatric residents, third- and fourth-year medical students, allergy and immunology fellows and sleep medicine fellows. Further, we provide education to nurses, respiratory therapists and sleep lab staff; give interdisciplinary lectures; and offer community outreach teaching sessions for physician groups throughout Northern California.
Our multidisciplinary pulmonary team collaborates with pediatricians and specialists at the outpatient as well as inpatient settings in providing high quality, state-of-the-art clinical care for more than 2,000 infants, children and adolescents each year. We take care for patients with asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of prematurity, neuromuscular weakness, sleep disorders and children dependent on technology.
