Philosophy of Care

I believe in developing a strong patient physician relationship and understanding each person's unique goals and desires. Through this, I hope to enable each patient to be empowered in their fight against cancer. 

I have the privilege of working with excellent staff that will also assist throughout the course of radiation therapy.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Zhao has a passion to help patients in their fight against cancer both through clinical and technical expertise as well as caring for each person's individual needs.  Beyond work, Dr. Zhao remains an active member in his community.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, staying active, basketball, movies, dining around town and following his favorite sports teams.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Zhao's primary research interests focus on improving patient experience and outcomes in the field of radiation oncology, specifically brachytherapy.  He is passionate about developing ways to apply the advanced techniques and technology available at UC Davis to more rural and remote places in the world.
