Philosophy of Care

Coinciding with the mission of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Division of Cardiovascular Disease, my goal is to provide excellence in clinical care, research and education, and to deliver high-quality medical care with commitment to leading-edge research and the highest-quality physician training.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Martin Cadeiras is a heart failure and heart transplant cardiologist offering care for patients with advanced and rare heart diseases, including heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFREF), heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF), cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.

He has special interest in the emerging field of precision medicine and the use of technology to improve health care access and delivery.

Research/Academic Interests

Recognizing that groundbreaking science relies on interdisciplinary collaboration, our research initiatives create innovative approaches to patient care by bringing together medicine, science, and technology. Together with biologists, engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists, we create novel solutions to address the complex issues we face in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support therapies.

In the Complex Care Laboratory, we use advanced computational, molecular, and sensor technologies to help us understand the molecular biology of advanced heart diseases and help us create decision-support systems for clinical care, to provide personalized treatments for heart failure as well as system-wide interventions to address root causes.
