Trauma Responsive Care Trainers

Brandi Liles is a licensed psychologist working at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital CAARE Diagnostic and Treatment Center. She graduated with her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2013. She completed her Psychology Internship at the CAARE Center in 2012. Currently, Liles is the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Coordinator and has been nationally recognized as a Master Training in TF-CBT since 2016.

In addition to TF-CBT, she specializes in clinical and training services for youth involved in systems (juvenile justice, child protective services) and youth who have experienced sexual exploitation. She helps coordinate two trauma-informed units in Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility and provides training for both probation and CPS staff on trauma-sensitive systems and services.

Clinically, Liles has served traumatized youth from ages 3-21 and their families in evidence-based treatment including TF-CBT, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for many years.

Current interests include: trauma, trauma-focused treatment, trauma in young children, dissemination of empirically supported treatments, children with sexual behavior problems, and youth who have experienced sexual exploitation.

Dawn Blacker graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology-Alameda in 1998. She currently serves as Co-Associate Director and Training Director at the CAARE Diagnostic and Treatment Center. She provides supervision and conducts psychological evaluations, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, TF-CBT and DBT.

Blacker has provided numerous trainings on trauma, sexual exploitation of minors, effective interventions for trauma victims and vicarious trauma since 2013. Additionally, Blacker is a Co-Chair on the National Child Trauma Stress Network Child Sex Trafficking Workgroup.

Current interests include: treatment of child physical and sexual abuse, developmental assessment of maltreated children, complex trauma, implementation of EBT’s, sexual exploitation of minors and early intervention.
