Our social workers are available to help families throughout your care at the Fetal Care and Treatment Center. Social workers help parents in coping with an infant or mom’s hospitalization and provide referrals to community resources and special programs designed to meet your needs during throughout the time you are in our care.
If you are from out of town, you may be eligible for low-cost lodging at the Kiwanis House or the Ronald McDonald House, located on the grounds of the UC Davis Children’s Hospital. A Courtyard by Marriott is walking distance from the hospital and offers discounted rates for the relatives of hospitalized patients. UC Davis Children’s Hospital and Shriners Children’s offer one of the largest and well-known spina bifida programs in the nation. Through this partnership, children and their families have access to renowned physicians and surgeons for the care and management of spinal cord disorders throughout childhood.
UC Davis Health specialties in the spina bifida program include physical medicine and rehabilitation, pediatric urology, pediatric orthopaedics, fetal surgery, and pediatric neurosurgery.
