Adolescents and young adults may struggle with body image issues and a complex relationship with food, which can impact their nutritional status and overall health. These challenges are significantly heightened for teens with existing chronic medical conditions, further affecting their body image, eating habits, and self-confidence. Research shows that adolescents and young adults with chronic conditions are at a higher risk of developing disordered eating or eating disorders. Maintaining a healthy nutritional status is crucial for managing chronic conditions. In this clinic, a multidisciplinary team supports adolescents and young adults in improving their nutritional status as they transition into adulthood.
