Our pediatric pulmonology team is comprised of board-certified pediatric pulmonologists, clinical nurses, nutritionists, social workers and clinical respiratory therapists. Our team collaborates with pediatricians and other specialists at outpatient and inpatient settings, providing high quality, state-of-the-art clinical care for more than 2,000 infants, children and adolescents each year.
We care for and treat patients with asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of prematurity, neuromuscular weakness, sleep disorders and as well as many other respiratory illnesses.
Kiran Nandalike, M.D., chief of pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, is a board certified pediatric pulmonologist and sleep medicine provider offering care for children with wide variety of pulmonary and sleep conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis and sleep apnea. She has special clinical interest in pediatric flexible bronchoscopies and research interest in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea.
As a strong believer in family-centered care, Nandalike helps families understand the disease process and know their treatment options, and guides them with the best treatment choice for their children.

Laurie Brown, R.N., B.S.N., R.N.-C., has been a pediatric nurse at UC Davis since 2001. She joined the pediatric pulmonary team in April 2021. She is the cystic fibrosis (CF) nurse coordinator and is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care to the pulmonary patients. Her passion is to provide support and empower families to feel comfortable managing the medical care of their children.
Leigherin Hurd, R.N., M.S.N., has been with the pediatric pulmonary team since 2021. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse for eight years and has experience caring for patients with chronic lung disease. She is part of the severe asthma and pediatric long-term ventilation programs and is passionate about fostering early relationships and care coordination with patients and families before hospital discharge.
Audrey Chikalla has been a respiratory therapist since 2012. She began her UC Davis career as an inpatient bedside respiratory therapist in 2016. She has been with the pediatric pulmonary clinic since 2018. She is passionate about cystic fibrosis and asthma education. Audrey is a certified asthma educator and performs pulmonary function testing in clinic. Audrey is a great educator and provides asthma, airway clearance and comprehensive CPAP education to our patients and families.
Paul Iman, B.S., R.C.P., has been a member of the pediatric pulmonary team since July of 2022. He has worked as a respiratory therapist at UC Davis Medical Center since July of 2016. Paul developed a passion for pediatrics while working as a hospital bedside respiratory therapist. He specializes in helping technology-dependent children receive the care and supplies they need to be healthy at home. He is passionate about bridging the gap between inpatient services and outpatient clinics and is helping develop programs to prevent unnecessary hospital readmissions.
