This 2.5-hour blended course, consisting of independent pre-work and in-person live sessions, is tailored for nurse leaders who will be mentoring RNL participants. It is designed to enhance mentor training and development. Aimed at nurse leaders with previous mentoring experience with a minimum of one year in leadership role, the course focuses on expanding their knowledge, skills, and practices in mentoring. Participants will delve into key concepts distinguishing mentor and mentee roles, explore pertinent theories related to mentoring, and engage in discussions on strategies for fostering mentee growth, development, goal attainment, and overall success. Completion of all class activities and attendance at the in-person workshop are prerequisites for receiving continuing nursing education credit.
This class is only open to UC Davis Health Nurse Leaders who will be mentoring Rising Nurse Leader Program participants.

This class is a blend of synchronous in-person and asynchronous virtual class sessions. The asynchronous virtual session includes independent time (1.5 hours) to review and complete the required materials and assignments prior to attending the in-person session. Independent pre-work must be completed within 30 days prior to the in-person class. The synchronous class session will be held during the in-person session (1.0 hours), where learners will engage in group learning activities.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 2.5 contact hours.
The UC Davis Health Center for Professional Practice of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than five minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
