HeartCode® BLS Online is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real-time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for health care professionals who need basic life support training for their clinical duties.
This class is restricted to Emergency Department employees and Advanced Practice Providers working at UC Davis Health. This includes nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, physician assistants, physicians, residents, and fellows.
Online consists of a cognitive portion that is completed online. A separate psychomotor skills assessment using voice-assisted manikins with real-time audio and visual feedback is required to earn a valid AHA BLS Provider eCard.
Once the online portion of the HeartCode course has been completed, participants come to one of the CPPN Cart locations to practice and test their skills using the voice-assisted-manikin RQI Cart system. Skills Practice and Testing will take approximately .5 hours to complete.
