Burns: Transitions in Care for Medical Surgical Patients

Burn ICU

The Burn ICU clinical resource nurses and physical and occupational therapists will be providing a two-hour course for staff nurses who provide care to burn patients in medical-surgical settings. Lecture topics include acute management of the burn patient, pain management, wound assessments, wound coverings, documentation and physical and occupational therapy for the burn patient. Hands on demonstrations of wound coverings and orthotics will be provided. No prerequisites required.

This class is only open to UC Davis Health employees.

Continuing Education Contact Hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 2.0 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than five minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
