Special announcement
Registration for the 2025 Biennial CPR is now open.
All employees who are required to maintain their CPR certification should renew during the January and February, 2025 biennial cycle. This includes anyone whose CPR certification is expiring before December, 2026. It is important to maintain CPR certification, as there will be limited renewal options between this 2025 cycle and the next cycle, occurring early 2027. Employees planning to maintain their CPR certification through an outside agency are not required to attend a renewal class. Employees who have taken CPR outside of UC Davis may submit their card to our office at hs-cppn@ucdavis.edu. Only AHA cards can be accepted per hospital policy 3010.
Course description
This class meets Joint Commission requirements for UC Davis Health staff and is recommended for certification of internal health-care providers only. Course curriculum follows guidelines based on current research, resuscitative science journals and papers, including the current AHA guidelines for CPR and emergency cardiovascular care.
This is an online module and skills check course. Staff must complete the CPR Online Module, which includes watching a video, reviewing content and completing an exam. When the online module is complete, staff will attend a CPR Skills Check. Length of time: ~1 and half hours for the online module and 20 minutes for the skills check. Staff must demonstrate CPR skills without coaching according to the CPR guidelines. If you do not pass the skills check, you will be required to attend one of a regular CPR class session.
Class size is limited; please sign up early. Cancel your registration if you are unable to attend. UC Davis Health certificates of completion will be issued to participants who pass the written evaluation and correctly demonstrate skills on the mannequins. If you need an AHA CPR card you should take an AHA course.
