NICU Foundations: Breastfeeding Basics for NICU Nurses

This course will provide a foundation the NICU nurse to provide breastfeeding support and education to lactating mother. By the end of this course, learners will be able to explain the anatomy and physiology of milk production, the neurobehavioral qualification for infant to breastfeed, provide education to mothers on making milk, assembling, and cleaning hospital grade breast pump equipment, and how to provide support to mothers of premature or critically ill infants.
