Unit-Based Practice Council: Tools to Success

This course serves as an introduction to professional governance, focusing on the roles and responsibilities of unit-based council members. Participants will be introduced to the chairs and co-chairs of various system-wide councils. The primary goal is to acclimate new council members to governance structures and equip them to take on leadership roles within their councils. Please note that all pre-class requirements must be completed before attending the in-person session.

This class is only open to UC Davis Health employees.

Part 1: Online Module Prerequisites

Start

Before attending the in-person class, participants must complete one self-paced online module that will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

Part 2: In-Person Class

When the online module is complete, participants will attend an in-person class.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 4.83 contact hours.

The UC Davis Health Center for Professional Practice of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than five minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

Registrations are approved after your deposit is received. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class.

Cancellation must be requested five days before the class date to receive a deposit refund.

Registration Deadline

Registration will close seven days prior to the course date and all pending registrations requests will be cancelled.

Parking

Parking is available in parking structure 4, lots 12, 17, 22, 22 Auxiliary, 30, 30 Auxiliary, Broadway, EDD, and DOJ with either a B permit or daily permit.
