Chancellor's Outstanding Staff Awards call for nominations
Chancellor Gary S. May has opened nominations for the second annual Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Awards, celebrating career staff whose exceptional contributions have made a measurable impact on UC Davis’ mission.
Nominations are open through Friday, Jan. 24, and may be submitted by any UC Davis employee or student. Eligible staff can be nominated for one of two award categories:

Exceptional University Impact
To qualify, nominees must:

Be career staff at UC Davis or UC Davis Health.

What makes an outstanding nominee?
Nominations should focus on the measurable impact of the nominee’s contributions, including, but not limited to:

Adaptation, innovation, efficiency: Highlight how the nominee has creatively solved problems, adapted to challenges, or improved processes to benefit the university.

Integrity and accountability: Showcase instances where the nominee demonstrated ethical decision-making, transparency, and responsibility.

Performance and engagement: Describe how the nominee has exceeded expectations, engaged with their community or team, and consistently delivered exceptional results.

Kindness, trust, and inclusion: Share examples of fostering a supportive, welcoming, and inclusive environment, building trust, and strengthening relationships.

Collaboration: Emphasize teamwork and cooperation in achieving shared goals.
In an email to employees on Jan. 6, Chancellor May said, “Last year, we celebrated an extraordinary group whose work made a significant impact on our students, employees, patients, and communities. This year, I invite your help once again in identifying staff doing exceptional work.”
