'Forget Me Not': A community event around healthy aging and dementia care, screens May 20

(SACRAMENTO)

The UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) invites you to attend Forget Me Not, a stage play depicting the experience of Alzheimer’s and dementia care in the life of an African American family. A screening of the play and a discussion led by the director takes place on Friday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m. in Sacramento’s Guild Theater, and will also be live-streamed.

The event aims to raise awareness of healthy brain aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and research and resources available to help communities age gracefully. The play highlights the impact of dementia on caregivers, family and friends.

“This event is an exciting collaboration between UC Davis Health and diverse community partners and reflects the university’s commitment to health equity,” said Elizabeth Vasile, director of CTSC’s Health Equity Resources and Outreach (HERO) program. “We are dedicated to developing culturally appropriate and community-informed activities to support healthy aging, especially in historically underserved communities.”
