Transportation and Fleet Services secure Certificate of Occupancy for new location east of Sacramento campus

(SACRAMENTO)

Earlier this month, the Fleet Services team moved to their new fleet services shop located offsite at Berry Avenue off Power Inn Road (8210 Berry Ave. Ste. 170), a few miles east of the Sacramento Campus. The new shop has been operational since April 8, and the fleet team has already completed several maintenance and repair jobs.

The new 12,500 square-foot lease boasts a new mechanics garage for vehicle repair, office and meeting space, and staff locker and storage space. The facility also has a large, high-security, outdoor area for vehicle parking, charging, maintenance and storage.

The former Fleet Services Building located behind the Facilities Support Services Building was decommissioned over one year ago at what is now the home to the nearly complete Parking Structure 6 (which will support the future Aggie Square Development). During construction, Transportation relocated to Parking Structure 2 and Fleet Services to the Broadway Building.

The new fleet services shop is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For all fleet and transportation related questions, please call 916-946-8730.

Before the move, Project Manager Julio Jaimes said: "Getting to Certificate of Occupancy is a huge milestone for us. I cannot thank the support teams from our furniture department, IT, Environmental Services, and Environmental Health and Safety enough for their support. Mostly, I would like to thank our construction manager Ezz Hassouneh of McCarthy Builders for his tireless efforts. We could not have moved the project with such haste without his help.”

Upon opening, UC Davis Health shuttles continued to operate from 4:30 a.m.-11:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
