Philosophy of Care

I strive to deliver individualized and cutting-edge therapies in order to optimize brain health and maximize the potential for neurologic recovery. Many of my patients present with sudden and often life-threatening neurological emergencies and it is my honor to support them and their families through these difficult times while providing compassionate and expert medical care.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Vitt is a neurologist and neurocritical care physician offering care for patients with a variety of acute neurologic conditions including traumatic brain injury, ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, hypoxic-ischemic brain injury following cardiac arrest and status epilepticus. He has particular clinical interest and expertise in advanced neuro-monitoring to optimize patient care following acute brain injury.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Vitt's research focuses on multimodal neuromonitoring strategies as a way to improve our understanding of cerebral physiology, particularly in the setting of different forms of brain injury, and how it can be optimized to improve patient outcomes. He has particular interest in transcranial doppler as a means to monitor intracerebral blood flow and brain perfusion in critically ill patients.
