Mission of Council/Committee:
The Advance Practice Provider (APP) Journal Club Committee develops and hosts APP Journal Club events facilitating
and supporting standards of evidenced based practice through relevant scholarly review. This committee is invested in
supporting advanced practice providers, professional development and evidenced based practice structure. This committee
meets quarterly August/November/February/May for 1-hour preparatory committee meetings on the 3rd Tuesday from 12-1 p.m.
followed by hospital wide APP Journal Club meetings.
Expectations of Council/Committee Members:
1. Demonstrate an interest in and commitment to APP evidence-based practice and scholarly review.
2. Participate in APP Journal Club as a facilitator and in group discussions.
3. Solicit ideas related to research and scholarly review in relation to clinical practice standards from APPs working on
the member's unit/service.
4. Communicate decisions and activities of the committee to APPs working on the member's unit/service.
5. Attend at least 80% of the committee meetings and hospital wide journal club meetings. Communicate with the committee
Chair/ Co-Chair in advance when unable to attend a meeting.
