Evidence-Based Practice and Research Council
The Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and Research Council includes nurses, advanced practice providers, librarians and clinicians from across UC Davis Health. The council meets monthly to advance EBP, research, and innovation through education, consultation, and resource support. Key activities include providing education on evidence implementation and research processes; reviewing and consulting on nursing research and EBP conducted at UC Davis Health; supporting nurse-led evidence implementation and innovation initiatives; and promoting dissemination of scholarly work across the health system.
The EBP and Research Council assists nurses with the implementation of evidence-based practice as well as mentoring staff to understand, evaluate and conduct nursing research and improve patient outcomes.
The council also supports professional governance activities by providing system-wide project support, education related to EBP and research, and resources aligned with organizational priorities. In collaboration with the center, the council hosts educational workshops throughout the year to support dissemination efforts and prepare for the Nursing Science and Professional Governance Conference, an annual event the council leads and hosts during Nurses Week.
