Philosophy of Care

Dr. Coughlin believes in providing informed, comprehensive care to her patients that aligns with their personal goals and current medical evidence.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Coughlin (she/her/hers) is a general obstetrician gynecologist offering care for patients including routine gynecologic care (annual exams, pap smears) and gynecologic concerns including irregular periods, heavy periods, contraceptive care including IUD and nexplanon insertion. She additionally performs minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including hysteroscopy, dilation and curettage, salpingectomy, and hysterectomies. Dr. Coughlin also provides care to patients during pregnancy and provides coverage of labor and delivery at UC Davis Medical Center.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Coughlin's research and academic interests include medical student education and quality assurance and patient safety.
