May is Bike Month

May is Bike Month is Here!

Register now for May is Bike Month through Love to Ride and be sure to add “UC Davis Health” as your organization. (If you participated in Biketober, you should already have an account.) Then you can start logging your miles! Earn points for every mile and every day you ride. Ride to work, to the store, or anywhere you choose! Even a 10-minute bike ride around the park will count.

Our Green Commuter Program is hosting a series of events throughout the month of May, including the first in-person Bike to Work day since the pandemic. What is May is Bike Month?

May is Bike Month is a month-long competition to get more people riding bikes. This is the 16th annual May is Bike month in the Sacramento Region. This year, May is Bike Month is all about swapping cars for handlebars and getting involved as a Team. It does not matter if you ride every day or if you have not been on a bike in years: anyone can take part. 

The benefits of riding a bike are huge!
⚡️ Supercharge your physical health – even a 10-minute bike ride will boost your immune system, raise your heart rate, improve strength, and reduce the likelihood of sick days 
🧠 Improve your mental health – riding a bike can make you feel happier and more connected to your surroundings and less prone to depression than other forms of transportation
