With a mission of “Improving lives and transforming healthcare”, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine leads through innovation in education and scientific discovery

The department has 50 faculty and over 400+ academic and clinical staff. 16 residents are being trained in combined anatomic and clinical pathology training from award-winning faculty educators. Over 11 million clinical tests are performed a year in state-of-the art clinical laboratories.

Pathology researchers are integrated as leaders and/or collaborators in every research theme within UC Davis Health.
