Many of the automated Toxicology screening tests are available in the Main Hospital SESP laboratory. More specialized testing is performed off-site in the Toxicology Laboratory in the Specialty Testing Center at 3740 Business Drive. Couriers transport specimens between the sites.
Toxicology Laboratory services include both routine and STAT analysis in blood and urine samples. Testing includes therapeutic drug and transplant drug testing, drugs of abuse screening, urine confirmation for amphetamines, pain management compliance testing for opioids, general drug overdose screening, and blood lead testing.
The Toxicology Laboratory performs testing for adults and pediatric patients utilizing a variety of specialized analyzers and methods including immunoassay, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, LC/MS/MS and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The Toxicology Department is staffed 6-12:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
An alphabetic and detailed list of analytes tested can be found online in our Laboratory Test Directory. Visit our Laboratory Test Directory for more information. Please contact the Toxicology Laboratory for help with additional questions.
