My research interest is in liver related diseases. I was awarded CMN grant money to build a summer camp through the YMCA called "Healthy Us". This project is for children/youth who struggle with obesity and fatty liver disease. It's a hands on approach to educate children on healthy eating and encouraging exercise to halt disease progression. We plan to then analyze the impact of this project by collecting pre and post data of anthropometrics and liver enzymes.

Dr. Haas has an interest in improving quality of care and patient engagement particularly among pediatric populations with chronic illnesses.

Dr. Hassan's research interest is in gastrointestinal dysmotility. She has done work on evaluating esophageal compliance and distensibility of the esophagus in the patients with eosinophilic esophagitis via EndoFLIP. She has published case studies on chronic intestinal pseudoobstruction, to help gain more knowledge of this rare condition. Ongoing projects including using virtual reality to teach diaphragmatic breathing to help aid in functional constipation, evaluating the utility of botox in functional constipation, and working with the pediatric surgery group to evaluate bowel and bladder function in fetal myelomeningocele repair with placental mesenchymal stromal cells (PMSCs). Dr. Hassan is part of the Pediatric Colorectal and Pelvic Learning Consortium, which an international consortium of surgeons and specialists that facilitates research on anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, and other colorectal and pelvic disorder.

Dr. de Lorimier is interested in the study of functional and motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract as well as integrating non-traditional forms of healthcare in the care of his patients.

Dr. Say's research focuses on improving the care of children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease using quality improvement methodology. She is also interested in the use of technology and telehealth to increase access to subspecialty care.

Some of Dr. Truong's past research activity and interest areas include; cystic fibrosis enzyme replacement therapy and nutritional status, lubiprostone in pediatric subjects with functional constipation, common etiology of functional syndromes such as irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia, gastroesophageal reflux disease - fundoplications, human milk beta glucuronidase levels and neonatal jaundice and the selection of peptide ligands to target drugs and genetic material and construct biocompatible materials.
