Our pediatric critical care faculty physicians are part of multidisciplinary teams at UC Davis Children’s Hospital delivering care to the most critically ill and injured children in Sacramento and the surrounding regions.
Equally important, our faculty carry out leading-edge research to advance patient care and are dedicated to educating the next generation of leaders in pediatric medicine.
Our faculty researchers lead the way in discoveries that translate from bench to bedside for pediatric critical care. They are involved in all phases from pre-clinical, translational research to clinical trials to clinical care application.
Critical care research activities include pediatric telemedicine applications, improving health-care access to rural and underserved children, early detection of critical congenital heart disease, and trauma care best practices, to name a few.
Our pediatric critical care medicine faculty share their passion for caring for critically ill children by teaching our pediatric residents, third- and fourth-year medical students, and fellows, including those in our ACGME-certified pediatric critical care medicine fellowship. A number of our faculty members also provide lectures for nursing and physician groups throughout Northern California.
Our pediatric critical care medicine physicians partner with medical and surgical specialists and specially trained nurses and respiratory therapists to provide high-quality, state-of-the-art critical care for more than 1,600 infants, children and adolescents each year at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. We care for patients with conditions including severe trauma, congenital heart disease, respiratory failure and severe infections.
