Our fellowship is an ACGME-accredited three-year program that seeks to train leaders in the field of pediatric critical care.
UC Davis Children’s Hospital is the region’s only nationally ranked, comprehensive hospital for children. Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellows benefit from integration of the Children’s Hospital within the University Medical Center, as well as the academic environment of the University of California Davis.
The state-of-the-art pediatric and cardiac intensive care unit (PICU/PCICU) at the Children’s Hospital is a 24-bed mixed unit that treats over 1,600 critically ill infants, children, and adolescents each year. The PICU is an educational site for medical students, residents, nurses, ancillary staff and fellows. Our faculty and staff share and enthusiasm for teaching.
Scholarly work is required and is supported by dedicated faculty from the first months of of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Scholarly work may take the form of traditional research or may involve quality improvement or medical education. There are numerous standing conferences that support and enhance our fellows’ learning.
Our faculty are committed to the provision of excellent and compassionate clinical care and excellence in research, education, quality improvement, and academic training of our Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellows.

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship is an ACGME-accredited three-year fellowship program that seeks to train leaders in the field of pediatric critical care. The fellowship provides clinical training in the acute management and coordination of care for critically ill pediatric patients.
Our fellowship provides the knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare fellows to serve as educators and physician scientists who contribute to advances in the field of pediatric critical care medicine.
