Dr. Hassan talking with nurse in hospital hallway

Our pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition specialists provide medical care and treatment for children and their families throughout Northern California. We diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders and nutritional problems in infants, children and teens.

Our team of physicians, nurses, nutritionists and dietitians use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment approach for these disorders.

Research Activities

Our faculty are involved in number of gastrointestinal research activities aimed at improving care and treatment for infants, children and teens. Our research includes studying functional and motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, swallowing disorders and constipation, and how virtual reality modules on diaphragmatic breathing can help treat functional constipation. Our faculty are also looking at ways to improve the care of children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease using quality improvement methodologies.
